The American Institute of Vedic Studies is an educational center providing a broad range of training programs, resources and publications. The Institute teaches courses in Ayurveda (Vedic medicine), Vedic astrology (including Ayurvedic astrology), and Yoga (emphasizing Yoga Therapy). It provides in depth information on Veda, Vedanta and Tantra, along with the background system of Hinduism and Sanatana Dharma.

The Vedic Institute is recognized internationally as an important center of Vedic learning with students all over the world. Founded and directed by Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri), it serves as a vehicle for his work, offering courses and consultations to go along with his many published writings. It is most noted for its distance learning programs (correspondence courses) but has direct levels of training as well.

The Institute works with important affiliated organizations like the Vedic Center Ruegen (Germany and Russia), Universal Yoga (Florida),  Dancing Shiva Yoga and Ayurveda, the Vedic Cultural Fellowship, the American College of Vedic Astrology, the California College of Ayurveda, Vedika Global, Sanskrit Sounds, the Association of Vedic Sciences (Czech Republic), the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies  (Netherlands), Dr. Arcangelo Lubrano (Spanish Courses), Suddha Dharma Mandal (Brazil), the Institute of Wholistic Education, and Lotus Press. Recently we have added a close association with Tathaastu Magazine and Patanjali Yogpeeth. |

Shambhavi Chopra, one of India's foremost women teachers, is now part of the institute, which represents her work as well. Shambhavi accompanies Dr. Frawley (Vamadeva) for teaching programs and is also available for personal consultations. Her two books Yogini: Unfolding the Goddess Within and Yogic Secrets of the Dark Goddess, have been widely acclaimed. We are happy to announce our Inner Tantric Yoga Experience, Ma Ganga Retreat for next year March 8 -13, 2009 with Vamadeva and Shambhavi.
