We are proud to share that Vedacharya Dr. David Frawley has been named the recipient of the BHISHMA AWARD for 2026. This distinguished honor is presented by Sant Shree Dnyaneshwar Gurukul, an organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Vedic culture under the leadership of His Holiness Swami Govindadev Giriji Maharaj.
The Bhishma Award was established in memory of the late Shripad Dattatraya Kulkarni, a renowned historian and Sanskrit scholar who authored the monumental eighteen-volume “Bhishma Project.” This award is granted annually to individuals who have demonstrated lifelong excellence in fields central to Indian heritage: Ancient Indian Civilization, Ayurveda, and Vedic Studies.
The selection committee chose Dr. Frawley for his profound and pioneering contributions to the Vedic System, Vedanta, Sanatan Sanskriti, Ayurveda, and Yoga. His work continues to bridge ancient wisdom with modern understanding, offering a truly Indian perspective to a global audience.
The formal conferral will take place during a special ceremony at the Bharatmata Mandir in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Scheduled for February 5, 2026, the event will be held in the presence of esteemed spiritual leaders and scholars. The recognition includes a commemorative Maanpatra (citation) and the Mahavastra (honorary robe).
This award is a testament to Dr. Frawley’s tireless dedication to the revival and enlightenment of Vedic knowledge worldwide.
