In these times of economic and social uncertainty, Yoga and Ayurveda practitioners and schools have faced numerous unpredictable challenges, and often a significant decline in their revenues. After the global shutdown following the initial Covid outbreak, many Yoga Studios had to close, and many were not able to reopen again when the lockdowns were relaxed. Ayurvedic schools and practitioners have faced similar challenges and reductions. There has been continued interest in Vedic knowledge at the level of individual study and practice, but it remains at a reduced level in terms of public activity. Even today many Yoga and practitioners of Ayurveda struggle to make their ends meet by their practice alone. This situation makes people wonder whether Yoga and Ayurveda can still provide a viable career for those dedicated to them. David Frawley and U. Mahesh Prabhu try to answer these important questions and presents ways to address the challenges.
In this short video course, we will explore the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in their core essence. This consists of the first sixteen of its nearly two hundred Sutras, which provide the foundation for the entire text. If you know and understand these sixteen Sutras, you will understand the meaning and goal of the Yoga Sutras overall. An in-depth examination of the first sixteen Sutras is necessary for illuminating all the subsequent Sutras. These sixteen explain what Yoga is, its goal (Kaivalya), its view of the workings of the mind (chitta) and how to transcend these to the state of Self-realization, the meaning of Samadhi, Nirodha, Purusha and what the practice of Yoga (abhyasa) consists of, notably relative to discrimination (Viveka) and detachment (Vairagya). Yet we have tried to present this essence of the Yoga Sutras in clear and relevant terms today, so that the contemporary reader, wishing to view Yoga at a deeper level can access to it in an authentic manner.
In this special four-hour video course, Dr David Frawley examine the Nakshatras starting from their ancient Vedic roots, exploring their qualities, energies, spiritual powers and deities, including much material not available in existing texts. It will also correlate the meanings of the Nakshatras with the constellations and fixed stars.

Many of us strive to periodically reset our bodies and their organic functioning to allow for proper rest and renewal. This provides new energy and a new enthusiasm to start new actions and take us beyond the limitations of old patterns and inertia.
The same process is necessary for mental health and psychological wellbeing, extending to the development of higher consciousness. We should learn to reset our minds daily to free ourselves from bad habits, negative emotions, and mental inertia that keeps us down or limits our mental acuity and emotional happiness.
We should periodically empty our minds of their residues of conditioned thinking and memory blockages, including any obsessions and compulsions, in order to stimulate new creativity, original thinking, and a deeper Self-awareness.
